Ingredients
Chicken marinate
- 500 g Chicken, boneless, skinless, cut into pieces
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
- 1.5 tsp chili powder
- 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
- 3/4 tsp salt, adjust to taste
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp oil
Other ingredients
- 1 inch ginger finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1.5 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp chili paste
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup ketchup, plus more for gravy
- 1/4 cup water, plus more for gravy
- Salt, as per taste
- 2 Hungarian peppers, cut into diagonal pieces
- 1/2 red onion, cut into rings
- 2 tsp corn starch slurry, optional
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine all the marinate ingredients with the chicken and let sit in the refrigerator for atleast 30 minutes to an hour.
- Place in the air fryer and cook for about 12-14 minutes on 390 degree F. Do not overcrowd the air fryer, flip them in between.
- Heat a pan on medium high heat. Add some oil. Once the oil is hot, add your ginger and garlic. Combine and add chili flakes and chili paste. Combine everything together.
- Add ketchup and mix well. Add 1/4 cup of water, bring to a simmer. Add sugar and salt as per the taste.
- Add the fried chicken and toss to coat with the sauce. Add peppers and onions. Mix well.
- Add the cornstarch slurry and continue to cook until the sauce thickens as desired.
- Enjoy immediately.
