Ingredients

Chicken marinate

  • 500 g Chicken, boneless, skinless, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1.5 tsp chili powder
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt, adjust to taste
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp oil

Other ingredients

  • 1 inch ginger finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1.5 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp chili paste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup, plus more for gravy
  • 1/4 cup water, plus more for gravy
  • Salt, as per taste
  • 2 Hungarian peppers, cut into diagonal pieces
  • 1/2 red onion, cut into rings
  • 2 tsp corn starch slurry, optional

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all the marinate ingredients with the chicken and let sit in the refrigerator for atleast 30 minutes to an hour.
  2. Place in the air fryer and cook for about 12-14 minutes on 390 degree F. Do not overcrowd the air fryer, flip them in between.
  3. Heat a pan on medium high heat. Add some oil. Once the oil is hot, add your ginger and garlic. Combine and add chili flakes and chili paste. Combine everything together.
  4. Add ketchup and mix well. Add 1/4 cup of water, bring to a simmer. Add sugar and salt as per the taste.
  5. Add the fried chicken and toss to coat with the sauce. Add peppers and onions. Mix well.
  6. Add the cornstarch slurry and continue to cook until the sauce thickens as desired.
  7. Enjoy immediately.
